The Breakfast Club: 3-Ingredient Smoothie

by: ELIZABETH McAVOY

Breakfast, as they say, is the “most important meal of the day” and well, they’re not wrong.  Breakfast, or whatever your first meal of the day is, is the energy your body uses to kickstart your metabolism. Yet knowing this, I still have a hard time making myself eat breakfast in the morning. I’m just not hungry first thing after waking up.

Let’s face it, mornings are hard. There’s not much I am willing to leave the comforting cloud of my duvet for when my alarm starts screaming bloody murder. Not much, except for this smoothie.  The smoothie, which is inspired by the Vegan Heaven smoothie from Amy’s Place in Providence, RI (big shoutout to Amy’s), tastes to me like eating sorbet for breakfast because yes, you can make it so capital-T Thicc you can eat it with a spoon. Here’s how to make the darn thing:

THE SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS

Frozen Blueberries

Almond Milk

A Banana

OPTIONAL

Honey (for sweetener)

DIRECTIONS

Mix ingredients in a blender, pour into glass (or bowl), and drink. Ur welcome.

Ingredient amounts depend on how heavy you’d like your smoothie to be.  If you want to be able to drink it through a straw, add more almond milk. If you’d want to eat it with a spoon (like myself) go heavier on the blubes, or maybe even freeze your banana, you get the idea.

And that’s literally it. Enjoy, ladies.
