We don’t know about you, but the day we woke up to find our mom wasn’t going to make us breakfast every single morning anymore was the worst day EVER. Almost as bad as when One Direction broke up. Almost.
Now that our moms have ABANDONED us like that (rude), we’re forced to come up with something to eat every morning before we go to school and more often than not it ends up being toast. Sometimes, if we’re getting particularly creative, a bagel. Pure adventure.

Oatmeal can be great even when it doesn’t have dino eggs in it (but we’re not afraid to admit that we lovedino eggs). Especially in fall, when there’s nothing more enjoyable than cozying up with a warm breakfast filled with fall-ish spices like cinnamon, and yummy nut butters.
Keep reading below for (five) fresh takes on oatmeal (no dino eggs included, sorry).
To make the oatmeal, you can just buy some microwaveable Quaker steel-cut oats from the grocery store, and add the recommended amount of water it says on the package before popping your bowl in the microwave. OR, you can take our favourite tip and substitute a nut milk for the water. Then, add the toppings we listed below! You can add the toppings either before or after, depending on whether you want them to be hot or cold (but we always prefer hot!)
We’ve listed the recipes below from easiest to most difficult (which are still pretty easy). The ‘difficult’ recipes have some more precise measurements, but we’re big fans of going by our ~feelings~ and adding however much looks good, so feel free to do that as well!!
